Knee: Diseases similar to osteoarthritis of the knee
Certain pathologies that resemble the symptoms of osteoarthritis. They will be excluded from the diagnosis by your doctor. This is why he or she may ask for further tests.
The differentiation between osteoarthritis of the knee and diseases that are similar occurs at the beginning stage of osteoarthritis.
They are:
- osteonecrosis of the medial condyle,
- reflex sympathetic dystrophy,
- stress fracture,
- synovial chondromatosis (very rare),
- villonodular synovitis,
- referred pain in the hip,
- femoral neuropathy,
- etc.
